Community Awareness and Safety Courses
Basic Pistol Course:
Teaches the basic knowledge and skills, required for owning and operating a pistol safely.
CWP Course:
Teaches the legal requirements for acquiring a South Carolina CWP.

We offer one class a month that combines both the NRA Basic Pistol and the South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit class; free of charge to those adults that are not prohibited from possessing or using firearms.

Your registration includes the entire class for that week. The classroom portion is conducted at 1511 Taylor Street on the Tuesday and Thursday evening (6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and Saturday (8:oo a.m. until completion) of the week that the class is scheduled.

Attendance at all sessions of that week's class is required for completion.

We also offer a series of Ladies only classes designed to provide a woman friendly atmosphere.

Note: Double Action Only pistols chambered in 9mm (Para, Luger, 9X19) thru .45ACP and revolvers in 38 special or larger (no magnums) with a suitable (Instructor approved OUTSIDE THE WAIST BAND (OWB) belt holster made of leather, Kydex or molded plastic). The gun / holster combination shall be approved Tuesday evening for use during the Saturday range portion of the classes. No .380s or smaller caliber is acceptable for class use.

The instructor provides a limited number of suitable pistols with holsters for use in class by the students. It is the student's responsibility to acquire a minimum of 100 rounds of the proper target ammo for the range portion of the class.
